Privacy Policy
NeedsMet, Inc. · Effective October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NeedsMet, Inc. ("NeedsMet," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information through Lyseeka (lyseeka.com) and the surveys created with it (the "Service"). It applies to founders who create accounts ("Users") and to people who answer surveys ("Respondents"). Using the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service.
The short version. The Service is free. We use what people put into it — mostly business information and survey answers — for any lawful purpose, including research, publishing aggregated insights and improving our products. We do not sell personal information. We collect very little of it: Users give a name and email to sign in, and Respondents are anonymous unless they choose to leave an email.
1. Information we collect
From Users (founders)
- Account information: name, email address and password (stored in hashed form).
- Business information: idea titles and descriptions, Lean Canvas content and uploaded canvas files, target customer descriptions, survey questions, survey designs and images, AI-generated drafts and analyses.
- Usage information: which features you use, when, and how often, including AI features.
From Respondents
- Survey answers: everything you enter in a survey, which may include facts about your life, work, habits, purchases and opinions. Surveys do not ask for your name, and you do not need an account to answer.
- Contact information, only if you choose to give it, such as an email address so the survey creator can follow up. It is optional.
Automatically, from everyone
- Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and timestamps, collected by our servers and hosting providers. We use a cookie to keep Users signed in. We do not currently use advertising cookies.
2. How we use information
- to provide, secure and improve the Service and to support Users;
- to generate AI drafts and analyses (Your Content is sent to our AI providers to do this);
- to research and analyze startups, industries, markets and customer behavior, and to build data sets, benchmarks, reports, models and other products;
- to publish research, reports, articles and statistics, using aggregated or de-identified information;
- to develop and train software and models, including artificial intelligence;
- to contact Users about the Service, and to comply with law and protect our rights.
3. How we share information
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
- Research and publication. We may publish or share aggregated or de-identified information — for example statistics, benchmarks and findings about startups, markets and customer behavior — that does not identify any person.
- Survey creators. Respondents' answers, including any email address they give, go to the User who created the survey.
- Service providers. Hosting, database, AI and similar providers who process information on our behalf.
- Program partners. Startup programs and advisors that a User works with.
- Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
- Scheduling. If a survey lets you book a call, the booking happens on Calendly, and the name, email and time you give go to Calendly and the survey creator under Calendly's own privacy policy. We record only that a call was booked.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect rights, safety and the Service.
In the past 12 months we have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent before selling anything collected under it.
4. Sensitive and health information
We ask Users not to collect, and Respondents not to provide, sensitive information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, precise location, or health, medical, genetic or biometric information. If the Service receives information that is "consumer health data" under Washington's My Health Data Act or similar laws, we will not sell it, and we will only use or share it as that law allows.
5. Your privacy choices
We don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you have a question about how your information is used, email timk@needsmet.org.
Other rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia and other states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. Email timk@needsmet.org to make a request. We will verify your request using your email address and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Users can also edit or delete ideas, surveys and responses in the Service. Deleting them removes them from the Service; information already incorporated into aggregated or de-identified data or published research may remain.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we have a business purpose for it, including research and the data products described above, or as long as the law requires. De-identified and aggregated data may be kept indefinitely.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information.
8. Children
The Service is not for children. Users must be 18 or older, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Where information is processed
Information is stored and processed in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will post the new version with a new effective date and, for Users, ask you to accept it before you keep using your account.
